Blessings in disguise
I believe in blessings. I just don’t believe in ‘heavenly blessings’. To me, a blessing is merely a good stroke of luck, or a wish thereof.
That being said, I think that all of the bad things that have happened to me lately are blessings in disguise.
I complained about my job to myself, and was laid off. Now I have a better job with better people that say ‘thank you’.
I complained about my computer needing a PCI-Express (or is that PCI-X?) port, and it was hit by lightning. Luckily, a friend of mine lent me his laptop until I can get a new computer.
I complained about my car having no A/C and having other problems. The car was stolen, and now I have a new truck.
I complained about my apartment complex smelling funny and having a mold problem. Now the stolen car gives me leverage to move out early.
Could it be that my complaints are a form of ‘ask and you shall be given’? Would things be better if I had asked instead of complained? Who knows.
What I do know, however, is that the universe acts in mysterious ways to balance things out. It’s a hard life, sometimes. Some people have it harder than others. I’m one of the lucky ones.
