Rick Dempsey, Chief Information Officer of Rayovac said in “PC Magazine” volume 24, no. 19/20, november 8, 2005:

“By choosing windows server over linux for our new sap apo solution,
we’ll save an estimated one million dollars in software, staffing, and
support costs over the first four years. we needed performance,
security enhancements, and reliablity at a resonable price, and linux
would have presented addtioinal risks in all of those areas . It may be
the new thing from a technical perspective, but linux doens’t cut it from
a busines perspective. I need a proven IT environment that I’m sure
we can support”

Linux offers less overhead (better performance than Windows), more security (less viruses and holes) than Windows, and reliability (no need to reboot the server every time you install something) than Windows. It’s not “a new thing from a technical perspective” at all. It’s older than I am, for crying out loud.

Somebody needs to educate that man.
